4th of July

Once again we spent the 4th of July up at Bear Lake.  It was a colder weekend but still a lot of fun.

Saturday morning we got up early to go out on the lake but unfortunately, the water wasn't too great so instead we played some volleyball and some Kicky McStevens and just enjoyed everyone's company.  Since it was a colder weekend than normal, a lot of time was spent in the hot tub.

It was really fun to hang out with Richie and his fiance Kate.  She's a lot of fun and we're excited to have her in the family.

Later in the afternoon we went out on the boat and the little kids did some tubing.  Pat and I kind of wussed out for tubing  but the boat ride was still nice.  Plus, it was a lot of fun to see Mason and Samantha go on the tube.  We have such fun nieces and nephews.

Saturday night we did fireworks but unfortunately, they got cut short by the fire marshal who was really nice and just gave us a warning instead of a ticket for illegal fireworks.  Props to Ben for taking the heat on that one, no one else really stepped up!  It was a bit of a bummer since my favorite part of the 4th is fireworks but it was fun while it lasted.

Joanne had a treat for us at the bonfire, GIANT marshmallows to roast.  They were kind of hard to roast all the way through before they fell of the stick but everyone had fun with these mallows.  Pat did a seriously good job at roasting his.  It's absolutely PERFECT!  They seriously are so messy but so fun.  By the time I finished mine, I had marshmallow in my hair, all over my hands and on my pants.

Sunday was more relaxing.  We went to church on Sunday (one of the three sacrament meetings they hold for all the visitors on the 4th!), and fit in some corn hole games.  Here are the 4th of the July cookies I made for a lunchtime treat.

On Monday, we relaxed on the porch and played in the water.  Here are a few of my sisters-in-law, Whitney and Sara and their babies and Joanne having some porch time.

Thanks Jim and Joanne for making Bear Lake so nice and fun for all of us!
