Festival of Trees

This year the Rich Family had the opportunity to decorate a tree for the Festival of Trees in honor of our nephew Jackson who passed away in September.

I was amazed to see such a beautiful tree come together in such short notice. Most trees are worked on for months, if not the entire year. Joanne suggested we decorate a tree in mid-October!

We are lucky to have extremely talented cousins and aunts who were so willing to spend time to help decorate. We enjoyed getting together with all the Patterson girls, Rich girls, Tiffany's mom and a few of her friends for a Girl's Night to paint soccer balls, reindeer, and glue little red balls of holly onto hearts!

On Monday Joanne, Marianne, Tiffany, Coby, Tiff's mom, Pat's aunts Shelly and Janette, and Pat's cousin Amber and I got to decorate the the tree at the Festival. It was so fun to be "behind the scenes." It was so busy with boxes of decorations EVERYWHERE. The joke came when Joanned pulled out all the soccer and basketballs that we painted and realized that there were no holes drilled in them! Coby saved the day by rushing home to get a drill. We didn't really have a clue what to do and I admit, I looked to other trees to figure out how to put the ribbon on but I'd say it came together quite nicely.

Tiff's mom did a great job making sure Corbin didn't destroy the tree next to us since he was intent on playing with the toys!

It was so fun to decorate a tree and I'd really like to decorate another tree next year
....who wants to help?!

I loved it too! We went tonight with our girls and I want to do another one next year. I told Will maybe I could just do a Mini tree so it won't be so costly!
