Thanksgiving Activities!

Thanksgiving was a treat this year.  We started the day with my 6th annual Drumstick Dash.  The turn-out was the lowest I've ever had but - I'm accounting it to the extremely COLD weather and possibly the fact that no one wants to get up at 8:00 to go running, who knows!  At 8:30 is was 13 degrees, but really, once we started it wasn't too bad.  And the company made it all the more better - my cousin Kari and neighbor, Erica joined us and of course, my awesome mom and dad who hosted the event and provided yummy hot cocoa and apple cider walked the course.  For those of you who are thinking you missed out - even my mom said she had fun and it wasn't cold so you were right, you did miss out!  Hope to see you next year though!

We spent dinner or lunch, whichever you'd like to call it, with Pat's family.  YUM!!!!  Everything was so delicious.  Joanne really is a great hostess.  She made fun little sequence of event cards, whenever one person did something, another had to say something else and so on.  Once we all figured it out, we had a few laughs.  She made so many desserts but we didn't taste any since we were headed to my parents for delicious treats.


I made a Thanksgiving cookie bouquet for dessert at my mom's and we just played games and read through the newspaper to find the Black Friday deals; we didn't even go out early morning so it didn't matter, but it was fun to dream.  No pictures - but still a very nice evening.

Now to the absolute BEST part of the weekend.  It snowed ALL day Sunday and night.  I got a phone call at 6:20 Monday morning saying we had a snow day!  HIZAH, Waterford hasn't had a snow day since 1995 - I was in 8th grade.  In fact, I remember getting that snow day too.  Anyway, that was a pleasant little treat to top of my break.  I spent it cleaning, okay not so cool but the results were worth it.  

Then, my mom and I got to go to the Rockettes.  Probably one of the coolest shows ever.  I like plays but I get bored of them.  The Radio City Music Hall Christmas Spectacular kept me entertained the whole time.  In fact, when it was over we were shocked.  We felt like we'd only been sitting there for 15 minutes because it was so entertaining.  The dancing was really fun to watch, it's a amazing how precise they were.  The best example was when they were marching like toy soldiers and 20 of them stayed in a complete straight line as they turned in circles.  My favorite dance was at the very beginning when they danced to the 12 Days of Christmas.  It was really fun to see.  And (just one more awesome thing to say about the Rockettes) the scenery was spectacular.  It looked so real I literally felt like I was in the scene with them.  Totally worth going to see - I can't wait to see them again some day.  You can see some videos of the show up top.

 So, that's that, now the countdown for Christmas Break begins.
